  • What's Goin' On?

I don't think it's a secret that I've been trying to make some extra money this summer.  The job hunt has been slow to non-existent, and living on one income hasn't been easy.  These are the things I've been doing this summer to make a little extra cash:
    1. I've been babysitting almost every Friday this summer.  I've taken them to Cox Arboretum, Carriage Hill Farm, Magic Castle, Delco Park.  It's been fun going to places and seeing them through kid's eyes again.
    2. I've been teaching a lady how to use the Picasa photo program and create online photo albums.
    3. I've done a couple of scrapbooks.
    4. I'm teaching a friend's daughter some private soccer lessons.
    5. I put together end-of-year videos for 2 classes at the elementary school where I substituted.
    6. I'm doing photoshoots for families.  What started out as one or two has turned into a happy accident of weddings, newborns, senior pictures, and kid sessions.  It's been really cool to develop my talent and have a great time doing it.

    7. I'm going to be dogsitting next week.
I don't agree with a lot of what President Obama says.  But I do agree with this statement he made (which I think sums up my summer quite well): "Recession brings innovation."
